As the only woman surgeon in my program, I faced harassment, discrimination, infertility, and countless other challenges that left me feeling isolated in my career as a woman in OMFS. It wasn’t until I met Dr. Tomsic and Dr. Stone online—and finally in person—that I truly felt like I had a place where I belonged in our specialty. Talking with them, I realized how much our experiences mirrored each other’s—feelings of isolation, challenges, and a longing for connection.
